No. 63 – The Graduate

By | 9th November 2016

Welcome back to the Art of Crochet blog!

This square has graduated sides, so in all honesty it has nothing to do with Mrs Robinson and Dustin Hoffman, sorry to disappoint. However, I love the colour combo for this week: Teal and Turquoise, Lime green and Purple.blog63 - 1This square introduces the triple treble stitch, just one more movement than the double treble. (Don’t forget we’re using UK terms, so you may see this stitch called the double-treble in the US or online.) On the key fourth round the stitches go from triple treble to half treble with everything in-between, giving your Turquoise row that graduated look and the corners  a great lacy gap. 63Here’s my film of the making of square 63, including that triple treble on the fourth row. Next week we’re doing some edging and sewing up, so don’t forget to label your square!

Happy crocheting,
Katy
